We understand that a visit to the dentist can be anxious for some people. We encourage you to discuss your concerns with staff prior to your treatment. Several techniques are available for easing anxiety associated with dental work, including:
- Sleep Dentistry – Intravenous sedation is available for those people who are particularly nervous.
- Systematic desensitisation – The gradual removal of fear by making the patient aware of their success in coping with small increases of treatment complexity.
- Distraction – TV and headphones are available to provide an alternative focus.
- Laughing Gas – A relaxant and mild anaesthetic which is inhaled during the dental procedure to alter perception.
